Day 161 – Chile – Carretera Austral – First stop on the Carrera austral is the Explorer Glaciers.

Day 162 – Chile – Carretera Austral – Second stop is the tiny village of Puerto rio tranquilo, very famous for its marble cathedrals.

Day 163 – Chile – Carretera Austral – On the way south to Villa O Higgins, very few buses run… so this man took me while I was hitchhiking and offered me food and bed for the night!

Day 164 – Chile – Carretera Austral – Villa O Higgins is the last town on the Carrera austral… A town with an end of the world atmosphere.

Day 165 – Chile – Carretera Austral – Villa O Higgins is home to barely more than 500 people… preserving its authentic Patagonian culture.

Day 166 – Chile – Carretera Austral – Many hikes can be undertaken from Villa O Higgins but even in summer winds are very strong and I had to wait several days before being able to pursue my trip to Argentina.

Day 167 – Chile – Carretera Austral – After these fews days, I was finally able to cross to Argentina and reach these beautiful landscapes, with an outstanding view on Mount Fitz Roy.

Day 168 – Argentina – Ushuaia – The wonderful hike in the Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego starts at the end of the world post office.
