As a child… How would you picture yourself at 30?
JOB – How did you decide to do this job?
Well, I used to play with my sisters simulating I was traveling, all kind of trips. I did like it and it was not common to travel at the time, we were just seeing it on TV. So, I guess I would have liked to work with something related to travel. Today, my work makes me travel quite often to visit shopping malls and I still like it. Later on, I decided to study business administration, while I was working for a retail chain. And I really appreciated the retail industry. I got an opportunity to work as an accountant in a shopping mall… And this is how I enter the retail business.
Maybe (I tought about living in) Japan, when you think about it, cause if I would start digging under my feet it is on the opposite site of earth
HOME / PLACE OF LIVING – Where you thought we would be living by now?
When I was a kid, I thought it was normal to live in the town I was born, where all my family lives and where I grew up. At the time, it was the only option I could think about. Well, (laughing), maybe Japan, when you think about it, cause if I would start digging under my feet it is on the opposite site of earth. More seriously, around 21, I started to think and I basically needed to move to a bigger city for my studies. And … the life brought me to Sao Paulo!

Striking and memorable events…
IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE – What are the most memorable event of your personal life? The first one is when I got graduated at the age of 18. I was the first of my family to get a degree, to enter at university, I became a reference for my family and I was proud to do all of this by myself. The second one is to have worked in the shopping center industry, that allows me to go to Rio for workshops – it was the first time I went out of my state and that I was able to see the sea… at my 25… That job also brought me to Sao Paulo…
IN THE WORLD – What are the main events that stroke the world you are living in? The first event that comes to my mind, probably because it happened lately … is the football world cup in Brazil. It was a special moment when Brazil literally stopped and when all the people were focused on the same thing – everyone showed so much interest and seemed to be working together in the same direction, that was unique. Even if I won’t extend on our defeat against Germany, it brought general depression in the country. I can also mention two other events in the world which are 11/9 attacks and the Olympics games, the fist one schocked me a lot, whereas I always enjoy the second one.
BEST MEMORY – What is your best memory? I definitely have an entire book of good memories, it is difficult to choose just one. When I was 21, I graduated from the university and we had a mess followed by a big party with all my family for some days…. Just simple happy moments…
GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT – I am proud to have travelled and visited foreign countries, to have true friends and to feel that my family is proud of what I do: doing my job and living in Sao Paulo.
Looking back / Reviewing expectations
10 YEARS AGO, I pictured myself married at 25, with kids, at the top of my career, super wealthy and living in a big city.
TODAY, my life is different from what I expected but everything happened for a reason, I don’t want to change anything. I am happy with the path I have taken, jumping in each opportunity that popped-up: I was an intern during holidays at a shopping mall …I stayed until mid-2010. I got offered the job in Marketing in Sao Paolo … I was passionate about the city and I accepted the job offer without looking at the salary…

Janice choosed 3 objects : 1) Her mobile phone because it enables her to keep in touch with her family and friends. 2) A school book that symbolizes her work and current studies (she is doing an MBA). 3) Headphone that represent her passion for music.
30 years old, a turning point?
WHAT’S NEW? – Did you notice some changes since you are 30 YO? I think responsibilities have grown up and opportunities have opened up – for example, I am now able to travel overseas. At 30, you know what you can and what you can’t do – when I go out to party all night, I know that the next days will be difficult. These days are more about being mature, a bit more serious but a lot more exciting as well because I now have the choice and the ability to influence the next days. I am able to make my own decisions.
Well, I don’t have any white hair yet (laughs). This number is really impressive…
WHAT’S NEW? – Did you notice some changes since you are 30 YO? Well, I don’t have any white hair yet (laughs). This number is really impressive… I would say … hum … I am more mature and fully independent.
OLD OR YOUNG? – Do you feel « old » or « still young »? I am younger than ever (smiles). I do believe in the future and I am happy. Being 30 is everything new: new city, new projects and new moments to live.
CHANGES OR REGRETS? What are the things you would like to change? As I said before I don’t want to change anything. Nothing is all on the good or on the bad side. I think that you can learn from every experience.
My Values
My Typical day
And tomorrow?
YOUR STORY IN 10 YEARS – What is the story you want to tell within 10 years? I have a lot to do in a really short time…Here are a few goals that I really want to achieve: travel as much as possible get married and have children and write a book (which I would dedicate to my mother). I need dreams to be happy…
THE WORLD IN 10 YEARS – How do you imagine the world you will be living in within 10 years?
I see a colorful and a bright world, I couldn’t explain why. Things will improve. I think that Brazil will continue to move and improve on economical ground within 10 years. Every Brazilian will need to work hard in the next months and years to impulse the change. The election of the new president in October will be decisive in the future of the country. The task is not easy.
Fears and Dreams…
FEARS – What are you afraid of? I am afraid of death, I have always been since I am a little a girl … It can wake me up at night, even if I control it better than before…
ACHIEVEMENTS – What are the things you want to achieve? I want to have my own family.
DREAMS – What is your craziest dreams? I want to be on the first cover of a magazine, as the businesswoman of the year for example.
