As a child… How would you picture yourself at 30?
JOB – How did you decide to do this job?
Well, I didn’t think about what I wanted to do. I dreamt about becoming a truck driver. I guess, that’s because when we were driving to the North West of Brazil with my family, there was a lot of trucks on the road. At the time I though it was a really great job !
I always lived in the city of Rio de Janeiro. I really love my city, I enjoy it a lot…
HOME / PLACE OF LIVING – Where you thought we would be living by now?
I always lived in the city of Rio de Janeiro. I really love my city, I enjoy it a lot… When I was living with my family, I was not living in the city center, and I had to commute a lot to go to the university. So I early knew that I would like to live in Rio, but in the city center.

Leandro plays in a Carnival fanfare… Almost 7 months before Carnival they have alerady started rehearsal.

Leandro’s favorite spot in RIo is this amazing view over the whole city and the sugar loaf.
Striking and memorable events…
IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE – What are the most memorable event of your personal life? Definitely, when my dad was murdered when I was 10 years old… Someone from the closest favela came to our home murdered him like and many other men. I was young and I witnessed the whole thing… It was a big shock…
IN THE WORLD – What are the main events that stroke the world you are living in? I would say 9/11 attacks. I remember the day it happened… I saw everything on TV and it was really impressive. I guess this event was really important for all countries in the world.
BEST MEMORY – What is your best memory? When I travel… And get to discover new places and people, new experiences… Those are always good memories.
GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT – I am proud to have a lot of friends and being able to keep them close.
Looking back / Reviewing expectations
10 YEARS AGO, I did not project myself a lot. Regarding my job, I have always imagined that at 30 years old, I would work in the cultural field, something to do with books for example. In terms of personal life, like every teenager, I pictured myself as a married man with children…
TODAY, my life is quite different from what I pictured 10 years ago. I am happy with my job close to the cultural field I have always wanted to work in. I do have a girlfriend but I am not married and I do not have children. Nowadays, people in Brazil, mostly in the big cities such as Rio, are getting engaged later and later.

Leandro lives in a builiding located in the neighborhood of Lapa in Rio de Janeiro.

4 days a week, Leandro plays Foot Volley before going to work.
30 years old, a turning point?
WHAT’S NEW? – Did you notice some changes since you are 30 YO?
When I go out and get drunk, I need 2 or 3 days to recover – That is quite new (smiles). That is for the “physical changes”. Regarding the mind, I am starting to think much more about my future than I used to.
I am convinced that if you behave well with other people, you don’t have to regret anything.
OLD OR YOUNG? – Do you feel « old » or « still young »? I do feel young because I have the energy to do a lot of activities. I am not lazy at all and it really feels good.
CHANGES OR REGRETS? What are the things you would like to change? I won’t change anything; I have to follow the path, that’s life. I am convinced that if you behave well with other people, you don’t have to regret anything.
My Values

My Typical day

And tomorrow?
YOUR STORY IN 10 YEARS – What is the story you want to tell within 10 years? I think I would live in a foreign country enjoying the experience of something else and speaking another language (I may move to Dublin within the next few months). I have no idea regarding my family situation, that’s a tough question! Well, if we knew everything today about the future, life would be boring.
THE WORLD IN 10 YEARS – How do you imagine the world you will be living in within 10 years? I hope that Brazil will improve with less and less social differences and corruption. I am a bit less pessimistic for the world, there are so many conflicts going on.
Fears and Dreams…
FEARS – What are you afraid of? I am afraid of being sick in a way it will prevent me to do what I want to: Health is everything.
ACHIEVEMENTS – What are the things you want to achieve? I want to live near the beach – not in the city but more in the interior of the country.
DREAMS – What is your craziest dreams? I would like to do whatever I want to without counting the money.
